HAPPY PLACE

An au pair is a pleasant support for your family. The au pair program unfortunately brings along a lot administrative work. Smiling Faces supports you in this so that you are unburdened as much as possible.

A SAFE STAY FOR YOUR AU PAIR BY A SPECIAL INSURANCE. WE ARRANGE IT.

A well-insured au pair with a special Insurance.

We would like to inform you about the insurances that are important for your au pair in cooperation with our insurance partner JoHo Insurances.

Au pairs in the Netherlands are seen as employees by the Social Insurance Bank. As a result, au pairs are obliged to take out a Dutch basic health insurance policy. In practice, the implementation of these regulations involves a number of hooks and eyes and the coverage of a basic insurance is not complete for someone who comes from outside the Netherlands. On the page in the document “Frequently asked questions” on the website www.johoinsurances.nl you will find more information on this subject: www.johoinsurances.nl/verzekering-nederland/ziektekosten/basisverzekering-voor-au-pairs

A new legislation has been in force since 1 June 2013 (MOMI). In this law, the duty of care that the au pair agency and the host family have in the direction of the au pair. Duty of care means an obligation to carefully deal with the interests of others, in this case the au pair. We have opted to implement this duty of care by means of the mandatory conclusion of an au pair insurance.

Why is the au pair Insurance compulsory?

With this insurance there is cover for calamities (eg in case of accident, death & repatriation) – The insurance can start at the time of departure, so that the au pair is insured at the moment that she travels to the Netherlands – Host family and au pair organization have this part of the duty of care is met.

The service we offer in cooperation with JoHo Insurances is the following:

Advice during taking out the the au pair Insurance (before the au pair leaves for the Netherlands)

Advice during taking out the basic Insurance (once the au pair is in the Netherlands).
